Despite being one of the tiniest countries in the world, The Lion City is widely known for its roaring success in finance, technology, and tourism. Singapore boasts a robust free-market economy; in 2022, it became the top-financial center in Asia. Its economy is primarily driven by exports in electronics manufacturing and machinery, tourism, financial services, and the world’s busiest cargo seaport. Singapore’s high per capita GDP, lack of foreign debt, and extremely business-friendly policies have made it one of the most advanced economies in the world.

Singapore has four official languages: English, Malay, Mandarin, and Tamil; however, Singlish, a colloquial form of English, is also quite popular among the locals. Having residents from diverse backgrounds, Singapore is a poster child for what diversity and inclusion could look like in a harmonious, ever-globalizing society. And did we mention that if you are a stickler for cleanliness, then you might just fall in love with Singapore because it has a reputation for being a clean and green city-state? In 2020, Singapore’s Changi Airport was named the best airport in the world for the 8th time in a row, so you’re bound to get enchanted, the moment you set foot in Singapore. The Lion City is also home to the largest rooftop infinity pool, the oldest temples, the world’s first safari park for nocturnal animals, and some of the tastiest food in the world.
