Yes, Sri Lanka is considered a safe destination for travellers. However, it is always advisable to take precautions and stay informed about any specific safety guidelines or recommendations in the area where you will be travelling.

The official languages of Sri Lanka are Sinhala and Tamil. However, English is widely spoken and understood in many urban and tourist areas. 

The program group will be accompanied by the Authentica team member(s), who will be available 24X7 during the program. They have also been certified by the Red Cross in first-aid emergency training.  In case of an emergency, measures will be taken in real-time.

In Sri Lanka, greeting people with a friendly smile and a slight nod is considered polite. It is customary to eat local dishes with hand, especially right hand. Wearing modest clothes and removing shoes and hats when entering religious sites is appreciated.

Sri Lanka has decent internet connectivity across the country. However, the availability of phone and internet connectivity will depend on the city/village chosen for the immersion program. Students can also purchase local SIMs, at an additional cost, for data, calls,     and texts.
