program to equip you with tools to:

Identify a business idea to solve a social issue

Build a social venture / product to solve the issue

Launch the social venture / product and create impact!

Build skills and impact lives at the Base-of-the-Pyramid!

About the Program

This 4-week intensive online program provides you with essential skills for starting or leading a social venture serving the base of the pyramid. You will work in teams on an idea for a new venture/product proposed by host organizations and develop plans for launching the idea. Alternatively, you can work on your own social enterprise idea on the program.

Academic and industry experts will help you develop skills critical to your success, such as: operating under ambiguity, understanding world views, driving innovation, securing buy-in, and making change happen. You will be provided with expert guidance and feedback to refine the business idea and strategy.

Program Content

You will be working in teams on your assigned projects during the entire 4 weeks. In addition to the project work, you’ll have two 90 min live online interactions each week with faculty and industry experts. In addition to these sessions, there would be regular meetings with mentors, host organizations and team members for working on the project.

Meet the Faculty

Jack Sim, aka “Mr Toilet” is a leading global advocate for sanitation and the founder of the World Toilet Organization and the BoP Hub. Jack received the Schwab Foundation award for Social Entrepreneur of the Year (2001), the Ashok Global Fellowship and Time Magazines’ Heroes of the Environment award (2008.) He is also a key member of the Sustainable Sanitation Alliance. He built an SDG Center in Singapore to help transform the 4 billion poor into a massively efficient marketplace to end global poverty. He has a Masters in Public Administration from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.

Dr. Anitha Ramanna designs and delivers experiential learning programs at Authentica. She was a Fulbright Scholar affiliated with the University of California, Berkeley and Harvard University and a C.R. Parekh fellow with the London School of Economics. She has a doctorate in International Studies and a Post-Doctoral fellowship from the International Food Policy Research Institute, Washington, D.C. She taught and led research at S P Jain School of Global Management, Symbiosis Institute of International Business, Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research and University of Pune.
